Position Title: Safety/Disaster Preparedness Officer (FT)
Department:	Quality Management
Position Description:	The Safety Officer/Disaster Preparedness Officer is responsible for coordination of safety and disaster preparedness related issues throughout the organization. This position is directly responsible for the investigation and resolution of safety concerns which impact patients, employees and the medical staff within the scope of hospital and regulatory agencies. It is also directly responsible for leading efforts to ensure the organization is prepared to effectively manage a variety of disasters. Development of policies and education of staff are key components of this role.

Requirements Include: Associate degree in nursing, health care administration or healthcare related field required Three to five years acute care hospital related experience in a clinical position required Knowledge in planning, developing and implementation of safety and disaster preparedness programs in a healthcare setting or other complex organization Certified in HICS and NIMS Disaster preparedness preferred. Must be obtained within 6 months
