| Position Description: | This position is responsible to assist healthcare team members in delivering direct/indirect patient care, including, but not limited to, preparing patients for examinations and treatments, obtaining vital signs, obtaining specimens, starting and discontinuing intravenous (IV) lines, obtaining 12 lead EKGs, assists in the provision of patient care under the direction of the registered nurse, setting up rooms with necessary supplies and equipment, and assisting Physicians, Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners (CRNPs), Physician Assistants (PAs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) during treatments.
Transports or escorts patients to examination areas, treatment rooms, nursing units, etc. Demonstrates critical thinking to assist in the delivery of safe, quality patient population specific care. Documents accurately and in timely manner vital signs, initiation of intravenous lines, transport times, collection of specimens, and observing behavior of psychiatric patients. Communicates and collaborates with other healthcare team members. Adheres to organizational policies and procedures; regulatory/accrediting body requirements; and professional practice standards. Interacts with others in a respectful and courteous manner.
