Position Title: Coding and Compliance Specialist- Physician Practices (FT)

Department:Physician Practices
Position Description: This position is accountable for conversion of diagnoses and treatment procedures into codes using an international classification of disease and the current procedural terminology. Skilled in coding standards and practices as directed by state and federal regulatory agencies. Ensures that records are coded in an accurate and timely manner and that documentation supports the services billed.

Requirements Include:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree in health information technology or certification in field related to coding for an acute healthcare institution required
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in coding with ICD-9-CM and CPT coding manuals required
