Knox Community Hospital first in Knox
County to offer Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers Medicare Check-Up.
Mount Vernon, OH – Do you need accurate, unbiased information about Medicare and the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit? Get the answers you need at Medicare Check-Up Day, November 7th at Knox Community Hospital. This event is presented by the Ohio Department of Insurance and its Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP).

OSHIIP works every day to help people covered by Medicare, providing counseling and education to thousands of consumers and caregivers each year through a variety of mean. One way this outreach is accomplished is through a volunteer program called ‘SHIP Mates…your lifeline to Medicare help.’ Knox Community Hospital has 12 employees who have completed the 22 hour SHIP Mate training, and who are available to assist Medicare recipients with questions about Medicare, insurance billing and some hospital billing procedures.

There will be 2 sessions offered on Wednesday, November 7th:
10am and 1pm, both located in the Knox Medical Pavilion, Suite 1G.
Use the entrance at Fosters Eastside Pharmacy.
This event is free to the public, but pre-registration is requested.
Contact Janet McGuire, 393-5530, for more information or to reserve your seat.
