Join The Foundation in the "Keep Her In The Picture" Campaign
Cancer of the breast is the most commonly diagnosed non-skin cancer in women. One out of every eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in women. In 2007, approximately 178,480 women in the United States will receive a diagnosis of invasive breast cancer. In addition, although male breast cancer is rare and accounts for less than 11 percent of all breast carcinomas in the United States, about 2,030 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in men this year. Approximately 40,460 women and 450 men are projected to die from breast cancer this year.

How Can I Help?
The Foundation for Knox Community Hospital’s priority for 2008 is the Keep Her in the Picture Campaign to purchase a Digital Mammography. The cost for this state-of-the-art equipment is $360,000. This is an ambitious goal for The Foundation but one we feel has the support of our community.
