Vestibular Rehabilitation

Vestibular rehabilitation promotes stengthening the central nervous system through exercise to compensate for inner ear dysfunction.
These exercises assist with many vestibular problems, including Ménière’s disease, labyrinthitis, and vestibular neuritis.

Resolution of symptoms
    • Benign Paroximal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is the most common cause of vertigo. It is the result of the crystals of the canal shifting into the wrong position. This generally occurs when turning in bed, bending or looking up causing episodes of vertigo that can last for seconds and occur several times daily depending on body position.
    • Infection or Inflammation can be caused by a viral infection and can affect the hearing (labyrinthitis). The semi circular canals can swell and send incorrect signals to the brain causing episodes of vertigo that can last for hours or days. The first episode is usually the worst and can cause loss of hearing.
    • Meniere's Disease is a common condition in which too much fluid builds up in the ear canals. The buildup causes increased pressure and swelling affecting both balance and hearing. Episodes of vertigo can last for hours with fluctuating hearing problems, usually worse in one ear and worsens over time. Causes a feeling of fullness, pressure in the ear, buzzing and/or ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
