|  | Knox Community Hospital's Urgent Care Center is located at 1490 Coshocton Road in Mount Vernon. The center is open convenient daytime, evening and weekend hours. We offer walk-in, medical care for patients who have an injury or illness that requires immediate care but is not of a serious, life threatening nature requiring a trip to an emergency department.
Examples of conditions that can be treated in an Urgent Care setting may include:
- Minor injuries
- Minor lacerations
- Minor fractures (fingers, toes)
- Urinary tract infections
- Fever or flu
- Sore throats and ear infections
- Skin rashes/infections
- Sprains and strains
- Animal and insect bites
Conditions that should be evaluated in the Emergency Department at KCH include:
- Deep cuts or bleeding that won’t stop
- Large bone fractures
- Coughing or vomiting blood
- Chest pain
- Suspected stroke or heart attack
- Seizures
- Abdominal pain
The urgent care physician may determine that some conditions warrant emergency evaluation and recommend that you be transferred to the hospital’s emergency room for further treatment.
