Stress Cardiolite
This stress test requires you to walk on a treadmill. In order to perform the test, an IV (intravenous) will be started and a small amount of Cardiolite (radioactive material) is injected through the IV. A special camera will be taking pictures of your heart before and after the exercise portion of your test.
- Expect to be at the hospital for approximately 3 to 4 hours
- You may eat a light breakfast
- No caffeine for 24 hours prior to testing
- No smoking
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing
- Please wear comfortable walking shoes
- Do not take beta blocker medications for 24 hours prior to test
- You must weigh less than 350 pounds
- You must be able to walk on a treadmill for this test
