Knox Community Hospital Specialty ClinicsKnox Community Hospital is pleased to offer Specialty Clinics that provide the highest quality healthcare for a wide range of major and minor medical needs. Our physician specialists and highly trained nurses bring specialty care ranging from diabetes education to neurology right into our community, saving you long trips out of town to see such specialists. Visiting our clinics is much like visiting your physician's office, with the added benefit of having all hospital resources right under the same roof. If your physician has referred you to a specialist for diagnostic testing or for treatment, you will find the high quality care that you need in our specialty clinics.

Our Specialties

Electrodiagnostic Clinic

In the Electrodiagnostic Clinic, physicians use special equipment to diagnose the diseases of the nerves, muscles, and bones, and then provide follow-up care.

Neurology Clinic

Healthcare professionals in our Neurology Clinic specialize in diagnosis and care of neurological problems such as strokes, multiple sclerosis, and seizures.

Ostomy/Wound Clinic

Specialists in our Ostomy/Wound Clinic provide treatment of colostomies, ileostomies, urostomy stomas, wounds, and skin conditions. Our staff members in this clinic have certification in wound, skin, and incontinence care.

Palliative Care Clinic

Through a program in the Center for Cancer Care, Palliative Care is initiated at the time of diagnosis of a life-threatening illness. Each patient/family member is provided general and individual information about that patient’s particular disease, treatment modalities, and personal care. The Palliative Care Team provides physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support to the patient and caregiver by relieving suffering. Pain Management is also addressed. With physician referral, a pain management nurse will do an in-depth assessment and work with the primary physician to develop a pain management plan. This service is offered to inpatients, outpatients, and patients in extended-care facilities.

Vascular Clinic

Surgeons in our Vascular Clinic offer diagnosis, surgery, and follow-up care for those with circulatory problems such as aneurysmal disease, stroke, and non-healing leg wounds.

Voice Clinic

Our Voice Clinic offers evaluation and treatment of vocal disorders, using a state-of-the-art video stroboscope.

Pulmonary Clinic

Dr. Meera Nathan, board certified in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine, internal medicine and sleep medicine, has joined the medical staff at Knox Community Hospital. A pulmonologist is a specialist in the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the lungs . She completed her residency at Atlantic City Medical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and served a fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey.

Knox Community Hospital Specialty ClinicsOur Staff

Many highly-skilled physicians are affiliated with our specialty clinics. Some live in our community, and some visit us regularly from other areas. Specialists who normally only practice in larger facilities provide outreach services to Knox Community Hospital. Over a dozen staff members work with our physicians; many of these are nurses with credentials or certifications in certain specialty areas. Our entire staff has a high level of training and experience — coupled with a high degree of genuine caring — that ensures the best treatment possible for you or your loved one.

How We Can Serve You

Most of our patients come to us by referral from a primary care physician, and often your physician's office schedules your appointment for you. Follow-up visits will be scheduled by our staff and you will be able to come directly to our clinic area.

If you would like to learn more about our Specialty Clinics, our services, and what steps you need to take to be seen, please call us at (740) 393-9864.
