Knox Community Hospital will officially break ground on January 28 for a 7.5 million dollar project to enhance perioperative services. “As a healthcare organization, we want to meet the needs of our community with upgraded surgical services, now and into the future,” states Bruce White, CEO.
Total surgical cases, both inpatient and outpatient, have risen almost 19% since 2008. The current surgical department covers these cases with five operating rooms; completion of this project adds a sixth operating room and will accommodate an additional increase in the number of surgeries that can be performed. “This expansion and upgrade of our facility makes us more appealing as we continue to recruit additional surgical specialists to our already well-rounded staff,” stated White.
In addition to the extra operating room, this project will allow for upgrades to current electrical and HVAC systems for the entire building and give KCH the capacity for future expansions.
A community-owned, 115-bed, not-for-profit hospital, Knox Community Hospital offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services delivered by highly credentialed professionals using the latest technology. KCH is Joint Commission accredited. www.KnoxCommHosp.org |
