Food & Nutrition Services

The Knox Community Hospital Food and Nutrition Services Department provides meals for patients, employees, and visitors seven days a week.
The cafeteria hours are as follows:

 | Breakfast: | 6:30am – 9:00am |
 | Lunch: | 11:00am – 2:00pm |
 | Dinner: | 5:00pm – 6:30pm |
Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels are hot meals served Monday through Friday. A fee is associated with this service. Meals include a hot entrée, vegetable, starch, dessert, milk, bread, and juice. Hours of delivery are 11:00am – 1:00pm. We serve meals within the city limits of Mount Vernon.
Catering
Your special event is very important to us. Food and Nutrition Services is committed to providing the highest level of excellence in all of our food services. We welcome and look forward to the opportunity to plan, prepare, and serve your special catered event. We are willing to work with you to customize your menu and/or catered event. Nutrition Education
Our patient diet education is available through physician referral. Please call (740) 392-TEST (8378) to schedule a consultation. There is a fee for this service. Nutrition education is available for the following issues:

Diabetes Education
Living With Diabetes
This education service is recognized by The American Diabetes Association as meeting the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education.
Living With Diabetes is a self-management education program that will provide useful skills and information for all persons with diabetes who want to reduce their risk of developing disease-related complications and to maintain control of their diabetes.
A physician's order is required and a fee is associated with this program. Most insurance companies offer full or partial coverage. If you would like more information, call (740) 393-9797.
Dining With Diabetes
Knox Community Hospital, in partnership with the Ohio State University Extension Service of Knox County, offers a series of cooking classes for people with diabetes and their family members or caretakers.
