Bruce White, Chief Executive Officer

Bruce White was named Chief Executive Officer in September 2006. Mr. White is responsible for the development of all strategic plans for the hospital in addition to assuring that the organization is responsive to the needs of the community.

Mr. White received his Bachelor of Science degree from Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio. He received his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Dallas in Dallas, Texas. Prior to his appointment to the CEO position, Bruce White served Knox Community Hospital as the Assistant Administrator.

His community involvement is extensive and includes the following: Board Member of Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon, Executive Committee of United Way of Knox County, Citizens Advisory Council of Mount Vernon Developmental Center, Advisory Board of Knox County Salvation Army, Advisory Board of Knox County Technology Association, and Ohio Public Health Leadership Institute Member.


Bruce M. Behner, Jr., Chief Operating Officer

Bruce M. Behner, Jr., joined the Administrative Staff at Knox Community Hospital as the Chief Operating Officer in June 2007. A veteran healthcare executive with over 27 years of experience, Mr. Behner comes to Knox County from Nanticoke Memorial Health System of Seaford, Delaware, where he served as Vice President of Outpatient and Hospitality Services for the past 4 years.

In his new role as Chief Operating Office, Behner will assist in the oversight of the day-to-day activities of the organization, providing leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure the organization has the proper operational controls and administrative and reporting procedures.

Mr. Behner earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration Degree from Youngstown State University.  
 
 
Sandra Beidelschies, Vice President, Patient Services

Sandy Beidelschies joined Knox Community Hospital in July, 2002. She is responsible for the Medical/Surgical Floors, ICU/SD, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Emergency Department, The Birthing Center, Peri-operative Services, and the House Supervisors.

Ms. Beidelschies earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing Administration degrees from the University of Cincinnati. She is also certified in Operating Room Nursing. In addition to a variety of clinical experiences in acute care settings, she has served as an Assistant Administrator at University Hospital in Cincinnati, a Level 1 trauma/transplant academic medical center; as a Regional Director for Professional Practice for Mercy Health Partners; and Senior Consultant for Cardinal Health Consulting Services. Ms. Beidelschies has also taught nursing and allied health at the university and community college level.

Sandy Beidelschies serves on the Advisory Boards for Knox County Career Center LPN program, Central Ohio Technical College RN program, North Central State Technical College RN program, and Mount Vernon Nazarene University RN program. She graduated from the Leadership Knox program in May, 2003,. Ms. Beidelschies is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, Ohio Organization of Nurse Executives, American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Association of Operating Room Nurses. Her community involvement includes serving as the Chair and Co-facilitator for the Leadership Knox program, Soroptimist International, and Psi Iota IX.


Michael V. Ambrosiani, Chief Financial Officer
Michael Ambrosiani joined the Executive Team at Knox Community Hospital in December 2007 as the Chief Financial Officer.   A veteran healthcare executive with over 20 years of experience, Mr. Ambrosiani comes to Knox County from Prowers Medical Center in Lamar, Colorado, where he served as the Chief Financial Officer for 2 years.

In his new role as Chief Financial Officer, Ambrosiani will be responsible for budgeting and cost reporting, cost control programs, accounting process improvements, physician practice management and general accounting and reporting.

 Mr. Ambrosiani earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Scranton in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and a Masters of Business Administration Degree from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.



Betty Lucci, Vice President, Human ResourcesBetty Lucci, Vice President, Human Resources and Special Services

Betty Lucci joined the Knox Community Hospital team in 1993 as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit and later, in the Birthing Center. Prior to her appointment as Vice President of Human Resources and Special Services, she served Knox Community Hospital in Strategic Quality Management and as Director of Employee Benefits. In her current position, Ms. Lucci is responsible for the Human Resources Department as well as Education Services, Employee Benefits and Compensation, Medical Oncology, Specialty Clinics, Occupational Health, Employee Health, Food and Nutrition Services, Speech and Audiology Services, and Volunteer Services.

Betty Lucci earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from North Central State College in Mansfield, Ohio, and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio.

Ms. Lucci is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Knox and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Ohio Society of Hospital Human Resources Administrators. Community involvement includes Soroptimist International of Mount Vernon and Knox County.


Judy Schwartz, MD Vice President, Medical Affairs

Dr. Schwartz began in her new role as Vice-President of Medical Affairs at Knox Community Hospital on July 9th. She is a cardiothoracic surgeon by training, and during her career, has been board certified by the American Board of Surgery, American Board of Thoracic Surgery, and the American board of Medical Management. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from John Hopkins University, School of Hygiene and Public Health. She comes to us from Medcenter One Health Systems in Bismark, North Dakota.

Dr. Schwartz also spent many years in the United States Navy, serving at The Naval Hospital in San Diego, California; The National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland; and The Pentagon, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, Health Services Operations.

Additionally, Dr. Schwartz is a Baldridge Award Examiner and will continue to serve in that capacity. The Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award, created by public law in 1987, is the highest level of national recognition for performance excellence that a U.S. organization can receive. As an examiner, Dr. Schwartz is responsible for reviewing and evaluating applications submitted for the Award. The board of examiners is composed of approximately 500 leading experts selected from industry, professional and trade organizations, education and healthcare organizations and government.
